Sunway Pyramid, Malaysia

Sunway Pyramid is a distinctive retail landmark located in the heart of Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya. It was opened in July 1997 as Malaysia's first themed shopping and entertainment mall.

If you are looking for a different shopping experience, this mall is worth visiting. The design of the mall include the Egyptian Pyramid and the lion standing at the entrance to the mall. This mall was recently remodelled and expanded with new outlets and is expected to have more than 800 retail outlets. The new wing was opened in September, 2007 with Jaya Jusco as one of the main tenant, taking 4 floors. Other fashion and lifestyle outlets include Principles, Marks & Spencer, California Fitness, Harvey Norman, Ace Hardware, Lorenzo, Lacoste, Gap and Raoul to name a few. The 10-screen Tanjong Golden Village Cineplex is also located here for your entertainment needs.

Sunway Pyramid is also one of the only shopping malls in Malaysia to have an indoor ice skating rink.

This theme park which is located just beside the shopping mall is a must if you want to have a fun time with your family and friends. Remember to bring extra clothing to change as you will definitely get wet.
Starbucks Coffee

The new wing of Sunway Pyramid, called the Pyramid 2 (or P-2) was opened in 2007. It is opened to newer retailers such as Jusco, Giant, Harvey Norman and so on. There is also a new section in P-2 called Marrakesh, derived from the place in Morocco. Expansion of the parking area to nearly 8 floors makes this place popular with tourists, local and foreign alike.
Getting Here

The mall is about 45 minutes drive from the city of Kuala Lumpur on the Federal Highway. You can also take the KTM Komuter train and stop at Subang Jaya Station. From here, take a taxi to Sunway Pyramid.

Alternatively, take the PUTRA Kelana Jaya LRT and stop at Kelana Jaya station. From here, take the Rapid KL bus T 623 that will take you to Sunway Pyramid.

The Big Apple

OK, so it's April 27th, and I'm getting a little anxious. I can't wait to get there and see what this whole experience is going to be like. There are just hundreds of unanswered questions flying through my mind such as the culture of people, food, environment, weather and others. Well, I feel like I’m prepared physically.

I have always imagined what it would be like to see New York for the first time.

Do you know why is New York City called "The Big Apple"?

The Story Of Change

When I was a young man, I set out to change the world.
When I grew older, I perceived that this was too ambitious, so I set out to change my state.
This too, I realised as I grew older was too ambitious, so I set out to change my town.
When I realised that I could not even do this, I tried to change my family.
Now, as an old man I know that I should have started by changing myself.
If I had started with myself, maybe then I could have succeeded in changing my family, the town, or even the state - and who knows, maybe the world !

Pan Mee at Desa Petaling

The noodles are handmade from kneaded flour on the spot. We are given a choice on the noodles - to be torn by hand into bite size pieces, or to be sliced into thin/fat strips.

Mushroom Pan Mee (RM 3.50) small. It’s not just your average bowl of soup noodles, the mixture of crunchy ikan bilis, scallions, pork slices(this bowl without pork slices) and mushroom was awesome! The strands of homemade noodles are cooked to perfection when they are soft but still chewy. Available in the evening only.
