Headed to BJ's Wholesale Club together with Lilian to buy household items. All the items are sold in bulk.

Main Street of Flushing, Part II, New York

Downtown Flushing is the largest urban center in Queens, and home to the second largest Chinatown in New York City (Flushing neighborhood profile).

The downtown sidewalks pulse with people – of all nationalities but predominantly East Asians, specifically Chinese and Koreans.

Flushing Apartment - This is the place where I'm staying

Chinatown in Flushing is home to a vibrant middle class and blue-collar community, and is wealthier than Chinatown in Manhattan. Until the 1970s Flushing was mostly an Italian and Greek neighborhood, but the downtown was shaken by the economic turmoil of the 1970s.

People left Flushing and housing prices dropped. Korean and Chinese immigrants began to settle in Flushing by the late 1970s, and have predominated since the 1980s.

New York

Living in New York is a great turning point in my life.

It has given me the opportunity to experience personal and professional growth in United States.

It’s amazing to discover that the minute we leave the borders of our country, we are exposed to a whole new culture of people, food, environment, weather and others.

It’s good to know the world that we live in are so diverse in many aspects and makes it so interesting to explore the wonders of another country and its culture.

When travelling I’ve learned to expect the unexpected, but sometimes when I know something is inevitable it’s even harder...

When you dine in the restaurant, one has to give tips, is a compulsory kind of things.

Main Street of Flushing, Part I, New York

Where to begin...? First couple of days was a bit confusing.

I woke up around 10:30 on Monday morning to a beautiful bright and cold New York day. Lilian lives on the second floor in the Flushing.

We decided to get ready and grab some breakfast and then head to Queens Library.

It was raining heavily. The weather was very cold (10 degree celcius) and strong wind.

Main Street of Flushing is a second Chinatown area. Lilian bought some fruits, fish, crabs and vegetables to cook for dinner. I'm so blessed by her kind and warm hospitality.

Drove back to Flushing Apartment where I stay with Lilian's family.

It was a very quiet day for me as the jet-lag was getting to me.

KLIA to Hongkong, Hongkong to New York

Arrived at KLIA @ 12:08. The KLIA Ekpress from KL Sentral to KLIA took 28 minutes. Thank you to my bro-in-law for sending me off at the KL Sentral.

Walked all the way to Aerotrain Boarding Platform to Gate C37.

Dinner time.

From KLIA transit to Hong Kong International Airport, took 4 hours via CX722, then Hong Kong International Airport to JFK Airport another 15 hours via CX840. The flight went off this morning without a hitch.

Sleeping time for all passengers. The lights are off.

Finally, I have touched down JFK airport. We landed at 10.30 pm New York time, 12 hours behind Malaysia time. Is on Sunday night.

Now at the New York Immigration Dept. I handed in my form I had filled in to Customs, had my fingerprints and photo taken and then collected my baggage from the carousel.

Soon I was with Lilian on the MPV heading to Queens. After only 30 minutes time from JFK airport, and it's amazing, we made it to Lilian's Apartment in Flushing close to 11 p.m. She gave me a tour of her Apartment. Needless to say, we talked until about 2:00a.m, and then decided that it was probably best to get some sleep.

New York is really cool, and today the weather is awesome too.
