"A man who attempted suicide sitting on the Genting Skyway station's safety net yesterday. The man, who is deep in debt, jumped from a Genting Highlands hotel restaurant window to his death but his suicide bid was foiled when he landed on the safety net under the cable car system. He crashed through the rooftop of the Genting Skyway station. Rescuers coaxed him to give up after five hours - and an offer of some fried chicken.
The man, identified as Lai, was seen kicking open the window of a restaurant at Highland Hotel before jumping out at 9am yesterday. Stopped by the net, he sat on its edge for five hours, halting the cable car service and forcing all passengers to be transported to the lower station by bus and the Awana Skyway." Excerpt from The Star.
Thank God the cable car service is back, as I will be using the cable car to the First World Hotel, Genting Highlands.
